Trash/Recycle is automatically provided (through property taxes). Trash is picked up on Tuesdays, and recycle is every other week (GREEN week on the Trash/Recycle Schedule).

Signup for CharMeck Alerts (or by calling 311) to receive up-to-the-minute notifications about events and emergencies that may affect your home, workplace, or anywhere in Mecklenburg County. You can choose from different kinds of alerts (emergency alerts from your local fire or police department, severe weather and health alerts, Amber and Silver alerts, and community alerts). Alerts can be sent to your home phone, cell phone(s) and/or email, based on your choices.
 

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police provide a vacation check to drive by your home and look for anything unusual or suspicious. Contact the Independence Division to request this service by calling 704-336-2890.
